On 23 August 2023, India achieved a historic milestone with the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 near the Lunar pole. India has become the fourth nation in the world to land a spacecraft on the moon and the first to land near the south pole of the lunar surface. To honour this landmark achievement, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced August 23 as “National Space Day”.
